Book 38- What French Women Know

What French Women Know about Love, Sex, and Other Matters of the Heart and Mind by Debra Ollivier was a wonderful look and the cultural differences between French and American women regarding sex and love.

I can say I thoroughly enjoyed Ollivier's take on the hang ups American woman have about everything and the few hang ups French woman have. She crafts this anthropological insight with humor, personal anecdotes, fun, and research.

What's more, not only do I appreciate Ollivier's writing style and her topic, but it was a great way to look at the attitude of woman here in the States. And I realize that, using Ollivier's declarations about French women's perspectives, I'm more French that I realized.

This is certainly worth the read.

you are reading up a storm, you need to stop and cook a few books for food for thought again!

i just picked up sunflowers, thanks to you mentioning it, did you read yours yet?

J- I've checked it out from the library twice and I always seem to get it when I'm especially busy. So, I plan on reading sunflowers before the end of summer- hopefully before the end of June! Right now I'm reading "1000 White Women" and it is amazing. wow.

I should try again, but I don't feel like I have anything to make the presentation pretty. All my lovelies are boxed away in storage right now, while I'm waiting to move!

Since I've found your blog, I tend to think of every book in terms of cooking, and what I would select. I promised myself I would try it again before the end of summer, for sure!
